Maternity Shoot – Laurel Hill Mansion

Another gorgeous sunny afternoon was the perfect backdrop for this bright and cheery maternity shoot! This lovely mom & dad to be were all dolled up ready for their baby shower so we snapped some pictures at the Laurel Hill Mansion before their guests arrived! Can’t wait to meet your little man in a few weeks!

Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile, ‘I love you right up to the moon and back‘” – Peter Cottontail

We were blessed with a gorgeous Friday evening for this newborn shoot! It was so calming driving out in the country with rolling hills and beautiful greenery everywhere! I’ll photograph this family at home any day! Congrats!

Welcome to the World Will!

My dear friends welcomed their first child, Will, to the world on March 19th! Together we spent the afternoon in the most beautifully designed, light-filled nursery  capturing the special moments of the first few days at home. Will is a very alert little one, he loves being awake and paying attention to the world around him!

Mom & Dad are old friends of mine if you remember from our Pastorius Park Maternity Session!

The Photo Connection

20170130-Mom 60-70-2-1

Have you ever had that feeling looking through your family’s old photographs…a tug on your heart strings – this real connection feeling? Photographs are able to take you back to a time and place and sometimes, even a feeling. Recently, my grandmother sent me albums full of photographs from the late ’50s to mid ’90s of my mom – I felt like I learned so much about her childhood growing up in Upstate, NY. Photographs from their camping trips to halloween and first communions. Photos tell the story when you are no longer able to. I’ve always had this obsession with visually documenting the places I’ve been, my favorite moments with my dearest friends. Some people document with words, they write down the feelings but me – I have to see it to remember it. So I urge you to think about your grandkids, and maybe even their grandkids…looking back at your life and the visual images that may continue on well after you do. Think about how connected they may feel to you and your experiences, making up stories in their head about you. Dreaming of simpler times (can you believe 2017 may be thought of to be a “simpler time” someday? scary.)

What I love about being able to take photos for others is that hunt I feel searching for that organic feeling, trying to capture so much more than just the moment. My favorite photos tend to be the more candid ones, catching that close moment between a child & parent…the almost kiss or sparkle of love in someones eyes. So whatever you do, take a second to snap a shot – you may not realize the story it may hold for years to come.

And, every once in awhile…when you want a picture of you and a loved one, I’d love to do my best to capture that special moment for you.

Enjoy some of my favorite shots from some family photo albums:

Pastorius Park Maternity Session

Deanna & Jon will welcome their baby boy into the world in just a few short weeks and are just the cutest parents-to-be! I’ve been blessed that each of them has been one of my best friends for many years.

It is going to be so very special to watch them become Mom & Dad!

We took these pictures on likely the most-gorgeous Sunday afternoon Philadelphia has ever experienced during the month of February!  It was 70 degrees and sunny; which brought EVERYONE (and their dogs!) out to the Wissahickon Park.  The park was so crowded that we opted for a different location because Deanna & Jon couldn’t make it down to Valley Green where we were planning the photo shoot!

So instead, we ended up at the beautiful Pastorius Park with their handsome dog, Hudson.

Can’t wait to develop the film we took, too!

Elfreth’s Alley Maternity Shoot

Our nations oldest residential street was the PERFECT backdrop for this maternity session. A cloudy February afternoon was perfect timing because in just a few short days, mom & dad will welcome their first baby girl!

Family Shoot – West Chester

West Chester is a LOVELY town, I absolutely adore it. Winter break was a perfect time for this family to have a photoshoot, the oldest son was home from college and the youngest is a senior in high school! We laughed the whole time, I have so many outtakes and funny shots! You can certainly feel the love from this family.
